Play Phase


We continued developing our game concept. During this phase, we decided to create a story-heavy concept in which the main character drives around their neighborhood. The border of the interface would resemble the Sawdy 46 car window. In this idea, the main character encounters 3 events in the neighborhood - each presenting the player with a choice and the possibility of influencing their surroundings (choices matter-style). 

After the pitch and feedback from the expert council, we decided to simplify our concept.  There were too little at stake in our first concept, and the interaction built in to the choices matter style of play would be too challenging to create within the given time frame. Our new idea would keep the same interface, but only present the player with one choice. However, this choice would present a more serious moral dilemma. We continued this development into the play phase.
